Whatever is showing up or surfacing for you, try to a RELEASING EXERCISE or CEREMONY:
1. Light a candle
2. Call in Divine Love, The Cosmos, the Universe or the Higher Power that you resonate with in order to create a SACRED SPACE all around you. This helps you transition from every day reality to a special consciousness, similar to when you meditate. You can also smudge and call in the directions if this is your practice.
3. Have an INTENTION (a wish) regarding what you want TO RELEASE and WRITE IT down. If you are not sure, JOURNAL for 5-10min about how you are FEELING IN THE BODY. The body is a way to ACCESS YOUR UNCONSCIOUS. (The body is where we store our trapped emotions, unconsciously, since BIRTH and from what we have inherited.) So, tune into your sacred body. What part of your body wants your attention. Close your eyes and SCAN YOUR BODY from head to toe. Again what area are you noticing most? You might be NOTICING TENSION, PAIN or DISCOMFORT. Bring your attention to this. MEDITATE with this. What else do you notice? What is the quality of this discomfort, (e.g. tight, hot and you might notice anger or pain, hurting and as you be with it, you may notice an emotion like feeling depressed). This should help you understand what is surfacing, what is READY TO BE LET GO that is NO LONGER SERVING YOU.
4. RELEASING CEREMONY: (you will need a candle, matches a toothpick and a metal bowl)
if you can safely do this in an outdoor fire pit, go ahead and create a fire or bring your candle outside. Create sacred space like above. Take a toothpick, and thinking of your RELEASING intention, send your intention energetically via your exhaling breath into the toothpick. Then with gratitude burn your toothpick and let it cool off in the metal bowl. From the flame of the fire use your hands and intention to pull the warmth of the fire towards your heart, to cleanse your heart, pull it to your belly, to cleanse the holding of past events and past people, pull it up to your third eye (between your eyebrows) to cleanse your vision and pull it up to your crown, to cleanse your thoughts for right thoughts.
Lastly, with gratitude or appreciation, thank the transformative nature of fire and of wood. Thank the sacred space for supporting you and close the space, if you like, by saying "go in peace and beauty".
